BHCK employs a staff team of 14. Our staff and casuals are highly qualified, very experienced and committed to providing quality education in a nurturing and respectful manner. They are lead by a Teaching/Director who is university trained in the field of Early Childhood education.

" I have been working at BHCK since 2004 and I love working with children, especially in the community setting where getting to know the families is also important. I learn from the children everyday sometimes as much as they do! In 2020 I took on the role of Director, sitting down at a desk all day has proved a different kind of challenge, as well as seeing the other side of running a preschool outside of the classroom, but one that I am enjoying!"

Being part of a community based preschool with local families, wonderful children and an experienced and enthusiastic staff team has been very rewarding. In 2014 I studied to complete my Masters of Inclusive Education. This is something I feel passionate about and this study has provided me additional knowledge to successfully implement strategies at BHCK to include all children."

I've spent the last 15 years working in community preschools and understand the value and importance of working in collaborative relationships with families and the community. I love my job. Every day is different, as is every child- I learn something new everyday. I've also studied counselling including majors in effective parenting and grief and loss. I find all of this applies to working with children and families in this setting. I'm lucky to be able to share my knowledge in the workplace where applicable."

"Becoming an educator at BHCK was the fulfilment of a long-held desire, as I had wanted to join a community kindergarten after years of working in day care. I was distracted for many years (raising three sons of my own). Then, as I made my way back into the workforce, I was asked to help out at BHCK on a casual basis in 2021. Very quickly I realised that the staff and children of the kindergarten formed a wonderfully nurturing learning environment. I was thrilled to be offered a permanent position in 2022. My focus now is to learn more from the passionate teachers of BHCK and to help the children in becoming ready for school (while having lots of fun)."

and enjoy working with a passionate and dedicated team alongside the families and children of our community. You’ll often find me in the garden or with my hands in our worm farm and I love nothing more than an afternoon knee deep in my garden at home!"
