Belonging, Being, Becoming
BHCK is managed by the Teaching Director with governance provided by a Board of volunteer Directors from the Kindergarten community.

Director's Message
Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten is run by the community, for the community.
Our Kindergarten is owned and operated by the parents of the children who use it. Parents play a vital role—not just in their child’s learning journey, but in shaping the future of the Centre itself.
We thank the many past parents and families who have worked very hard to make the Kindergarten the excellent facility it is today. As each new group of parents contributes their time and energy, they help ensure the Kindergarten continues to grow and thrive for generations to come.
Our Vision & Mission
Vision
To be the best preschool on the Northern Beaches recommended most by parents and schools, and loved by children.

Mission

Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten is a not-for-profit preschool whose high quality educational staff focus on developing creative, independent and 'school ready' children in a warm, nurturing and inspiring environment.

Our philosophy
belonging, being, becoming
Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten (BHCK) offers a play based curriculum based on the ideals of BELONGING, BEING, BECOMING, The Early Years Learning Framework (DEEWR, 2009). We believe in the importance of children and families having a sense of belonging to our centre and the community.

we endeavour to provide a warm, safe and supportive environment with an emphasis on developing trusting relationships.

OUR CENTRE
Beacon Hill Community Kindergarten (BHCK) is a not-for-profit community based preschool. The Centre is partially funded by the Department of Education and Communities and is operated on a not-for-profit basis with all revenue reinvested in the Kindergarten. BHCK is managed by the Teaching Director with governance provided by a Board of volunteer Directors from the Kindergarten community. The daily fee charged is the difference between the funding received and the amount required to meet the provisions of the annual budget.

Our highly qualified and committed staff understand that each child is an individual. Our staff work to ensure that each and every child that comes to BHCK has meaningful and positive experiences which enhance their learning and development.

We truly believe at BHCK that our community is what makes us so special. The parents and childcare professionals within our community all have a common goal: to provide the best possible experiences for the children during their time at BHCK and for future families coming through.
There are many ways in which families can get involved during their child's time at BHCK. We rely on this community involvement for the success of our centre and fundraising events by collaboration and partnership between families, the centre, and the wider community.
